Jeff & Lori Burnell - For Zion's Sake

God is good. Lori and I were married in 1980, where we met working at a Hospital trauma center in south Orange County. Our sons were born three and four years later.

God is so good. Lori and Jeff moved from Ramona to Temecula in 1999 and started attending the Bible Fellowship. Just a year later, the Lord placed on my heart to retire and serve Him full time. I didn't quite know what this was all about and a month later was asked to help at the church as a volunteer. I remember being so excited. Serving, feeding, encouraging and loving the sheep. In

2001, along with others, Lori and I toured Israel. The trip was very exciting for us. I then found myself going back for a type of scouting trip mid-September of 2001 for five weeks.

Serving the Lord, and His people was such a joy and in June of 2002 our family was asked to move to, and co-labor with Pastor Bradley Antolovich and his family in Jerusalem, Israel. God is really good. So after much prayer and many changes in our life, Lori, Tyler and I sold our home in Temecula and off to Jerusalem we went. These two years in Jerusalem were incredible! 1 Timothy chapter 3 spoke to both Lori and I in 2002.

In August of 2004 we saw some changes in my Mother's health and in need of help. So as 1 Timothy spoke to us once, 1 Timothy chapter five spoke to us yet again. This is where we get to again say, God is incredibly good. He provided housing, a nursing position for Lori, a job and college for Tyler, and I am again allowed the joy of serving again at the Bible Fellowship and assisting with a ministry born out of Calvary Chapel Jerusalem called For Zion's Sake.

Our oldest son, Colin remains at a German Airbase as he continues to serve in the United States Air Force. Lori and I are praying regarding where he might what us to go next, and when.

I am writing this story to encourage those of you who the Lord might want to use in the mission field. Be open, be prepared and be in prayer. "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witness to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." The Acts of the Apostles, Chapter one, verse eight.

God is wonderful!
