the vision
The purpose for the Anchor Ministry is for parents and families of special needs children to get an undistracted time to receive a solid Bible teaching, be refreshed, refilled, and equipped by the power of God to handle the difficult days at hand.
The vision is to have these children integrated through the buddy system within the children’s ministry classroom setting,
and that our special needs children will be safe, loved, and taught at their appropriate age and/or ability level.
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast…

What is a buddy
We are prayerfully looking for personal aides that have a heart to serve one-on-one within the ministry. The goal is for each special needs child to have a one-on-one personal aide (buddy) with the intention of weaning the child off their buddy to integrate them into their ‘ability appropriate’ class. Unfortunately, at this time we are limited to inclusion within the children’s ministry classes, so if the child is unable to engage in a regular classroom setting with a one-on-one personal aid (buddy) helping them we may not be able to accommodate their particular needs.
How to become a buddy
Before serving in this ministry, it is required that all volunteers complete the Distinctive Classes. The purpose of the Distinctive Classes is to explain the basic beliefs of Calvary Chapel Bible Fellowship before we step out to serve in a ministry at the church. After completing the Distinctive Classes, submit a ministry application. Qualifications to become a buddy include a heart to serve, love for all of God’s children, patience, and prior experience is always a blessing. Youth and adult volunteers may choose to serve Sunday mornings, nights, an/or Wednesday nights.
