Junior HIgh Parent Update

Hey Parents!
We have a lot of incredible events for the students to sign up for, including volunteer opportunities, fun events, and some info on winter camp! Here is a brief overview of some of the events with more info below on each event:
September 26th - Volunteering at the Family Movie Night
October 4th - Junior High Game Day
October 25th - Church Harvest Festival Volunteering
November 15th - Junior High Friendsgiving
December 13th - Junior High Christmas Party
January 23rd-25th - Junior High Winter Camp
The Junior High Ministry will be volunteering at the family movie night out on the fellowship lawn, we will be doing set up, running concessions and clean up. As I always tell the students, serving is an essential part of our relationship with God and we want to give them as many opportunities to serve the church body.  The movie will be King of Kings, a new animated movie about the life of Christ told from the perspective of Charles Dickens telling it to his son.  We would love for your student to serve and for the rest of your family to come out and support the students at the event.
The Junior High Game Day is going to be an awesome evening of fun and competition. We are going to have tons of different games like dodge ball, kick ball, soccer, and more, as well as other fun outside actives like cornhole and giant connect 4. This is  a great opportunity for the student to just have fun with their friends. The event will run from 3pm to 8pm and includes dinner, snacks,  and drinks. You can Register your student using the link below.
Saturday, October 25th, is the Harvest Family Festival. There will be rides, food, crafts, and plenty of activities for families to enjoy throughout the day.  And there are opportunities for everyone to serve,  whether they are in junior high, high school, or even adults.  There is so much that goes into the harvest festival, like running games, concessions, face painting, pumpkin decorating, prize refills and so much more. Whether you just sign up your junior higher or the whole family, this is a great chance to come and serve the church!
This November the Junior high ministry is doing a brand new event, Friendsgiving. This is going to be a fun evening of food and games. We asked the students what they wanted to do and most of them said they just wanted to hang out and eat food, so that’s what we are gonna do! The event will be a potluck and when you register your student you will have the opportunity to select what kind of item you would like to bring. Whether that’s an appetizer,  side dish, main item, dessert or even drinks. We want to encourage the students to bring something they had a hand in making, and that could be eaten by roughly 10 people (as a side item, not as a full meal of just that item) . Then we the rest of the night will be a bunch of tables with board games, card games and more. As the holiday season rolls around we want to give the students as many opportunities as possible to create lasting friendships.

A couple of things to note about this event:
1. The food doesn‘t need to be strictly thanksgiving food, but we do ask that there is some variety to the meal items. Also please try to avoid peanuts :)
2. We will be looking to have a couple of Main Meats like Ham, Turkey or other items, if you are interested in helping with that please send me an email with any thoughts you may have at josh@ccbf.net
Registration will be open soon. Please sign the interest list below if you would like a notification when registrations are open
In December we will be having our Christmas party, which is going to be a super fun event with food, games, and a gingerbread house building contest. Sign ups will be available at the end of October :)
This years Junior High Winter Camp is going to be from Friday January 23rd through Sunday January 25th and will be up at  Mile High Pines in Angelus Oaks.  There will be great worship, teachings, small groups, food, activities and so much more. The cost will be close to $300 and we should have sign ups open at the end of October.
